Use of Digital Payment Systems Before and After Demonetization:A Pre and Post Implementation Analysis of Consumers in Delhi / NCR Region
Subscribe/Renew Journal
This study investigates how different cash and non-cash variables effected the usage of digital payment systems in India pre and post digitalization. Focus group discussions were made to create statements. Then structured questionnaires were filled from consumers randomly who were using digital payment systems. The target sample was 300 sample units, however, on data cleaning, the authors found that 70% of the response was valid and should be taken for the study. Frequency analysis, principal component analysis (PCA) and structural equation modelling (SEM) using IBM SPSS 22.0 and AMOS was done to explore the relationship between the factors. Three key factors viz., promotional offers, convenience facilities and technical and non-technical barriers are affecting the digital payment systems in Indian environment. The study also allows us to think that how costs can be reduced through optimization of the input variables taken under study and possible latent variables that can affect the digital payments systems in near future.
