Organic agriculture offers many synergistic benefits for tackling the bio-physical and socio-economic challenges for reducing hunger, rural poverty and inequality and conserving natural resources cultural diversity. The universe of the proposed study will be the Organic farming in Nagpur District and Simple random sampling has been used. A study was designed to investigate the important factors why the farmers want to do organic farming or the reasons for the preference of organic farming over the conventional farming. we can conclude four important attributes for distinction between organic farming and conventional farming which are namely Superior output benefits, financial benefits, cooperative farming and market benefits and finally Government and documentation issues. One biggest reason why the farmers are happy doing organic farming is because of the superior quality benefits like soil health is improved, there are high water-use efficiency and organic farming preserves traditional varieties/species and high self dependency for seeds. This has resulted on the increase of the production level and improving the soil quality and better value for their farm products and improvement of their economic condition. Hence we can say “Organic farming plays an important role in increasing Production Level and Sustainable development of farming”. We find that their production has declined maximum by 10% and few that their production has declined by 20%. Whereas on the other hand we find that the farmers doing organic farming for 4 to 6 years, out of 74 farmers, 80% farmers find their production has increased or more years are more positive and are happier that their standard of living has improved. 39% farmers the production has increased by 10% whereas 40% farmers the production has increased by 20%. The farmers doing organic farming for 7 or more years we find 88% farmers the production has increased and we also find that the farmers doing organic farming for 7 years or more, their production has increased by 30%. Hence we can conclude that the production generally increases after 3years and their increase in percentage also rises gradually with the increase in the number of years their change in production increase is also more. This work is an attempt to arrive at research directions to develop a modified Performance Appraisal Framework for Administrative Staff of (HEIs) in Ghanaian context. This paper extend an update on literature by several selected authors, key among them includes Neely et al’s.(2000) literature review “Performance measurement system design” and “the Current State of Performance Appraisal Research and Practice: Concerns, Directions, and Implications” by Bretzet al.(1992). The research papermakes use of citation/co-citation analysis of work in the area of performance appraisal and performance management to researchdenouements in the field globally. HEIs can be considered as a key authority on the operations of the labor market as much as their interrelationship with business institutions cannot be overruled. Hence, there is a need for HEIs to acknowledge themselves as the most significant institution that furnish and shape cultured and learned personnel for the nation’s labor market. The challenge is to provide quality educational services that goes beyond the faculty staff as well as administrative staff who are the key stakeholders in HEIs. In an attempt to arrive at research directions for the development of a modified performance appraisal framework for administrative staff of HEIs in Ghanaian context, this work serves as the substratum for the buildup of study. Acritique of protracted literature related to performance management and appraisal is presented with a brief discussion on anongoingphase of the performance appraisal process, highlighting the adjacency of methodologyand research along with, suggestingrecommendations for supplementary future research on current themes such as the concept of Employee Engagement in Performance Management, Influence of Cultural Diversity of Performance Management and ICT developments on Performance Management. Motivated workforce is the strength of an organisation and ultimately of a nation. Academicians especially those of higher education are responsible to shape the future workforce. The strength of a nation thus depends on the motivation of higher education academicians. Keeping this in mind, the present study has been carried out focusing on analysis of various factors obtained through EFA, affecting academician’s motivation. These factors are used to analyse the impact of various organisational variables (Nature of organisation, Job nature, Total Academic experience and experience in present organisation) of the academicians of higher education, on their motivation, at different designations (Assistant professor, Associate professor, Professor). This interaction has been studied with the designation using Mean, ANOVA, and, ANOVA Factorial and Post Hoc test. The current study is an attempt to analyze the governance practices of the Indian corporate entities and to make a comparison between the SEBI guidelines on corporate governance as mentioned in the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR), 2015 and the governance practices listed in the newly proposed Uday Kotak Committee Recommendations, 2018. Though the new recommendations are to be followed from April, 2018 and some of the mentioned recommendations will come into force from the year 2020 but the current study tries to highlight the difference between the old and new guidelines in order to make an assumption about the proposed changes it will be able to bring in the area of corporate governance in India. Life insurance is bought lesser in India by rural population. The tendency is to defer the purchase decision. The possibility of death is ignored by the rural people; however there is more possibility of such misfortune for people living in rural areas. The rural people never believe that they can succumb to destiny and they think they will live a long and healthy life. The rural population in India is without life insurance cover and this part of the population is also subject to weak social security and pension systems with hardly any old age income security. Every insurer has to follow the rules regarding rural and social obligations from time to time. The present study is to examine the business done in the rural sector by the life insurance companies. LIC, SBI Life Insurance Co. Ltd and ICICI Pru Life Co. Ltd and Private Sector on the whole have been taken for the study. It has been found that all the three companies and the private sector on whole have maintained the required percentage of policies to be issued in rural areas of their respective businesses during the study period. Not even two percent of the rural population has been covered in any of the years under study. The reasons might be due to lack and low awareness of the people about life insurance, low affordability and low purchasing power. These can be trounced by using social media, TV and radio, campaigns and developing trust among the rural people by providing quality service. S. Kamaleshwar Rao K. Both the indices are calculated under Tokyo Stock Exchange. TOPIX has been in existence from 1968 whereas the calculation of NIKKEI started from 1950s. TOPIX is a free-float adjusted market capitalisation weighted index and covers a wider market as compared to NIKKEI which is price weighted and mainly comprises of top blue-chip companies. Bivariate Granger Causality test has been run on the logarithmic values of closing prices of both the indices for the period of twenty years from 2000-18. The test revealed a causality relationship among the indices wherein TOPIX was the driven index and NIKKEI was the driver index. This implies that in maximum of the cases the performance of TOPIX is dependent on NIKKEI. T. Bank is an economic institution playing an important role in the promotion of the economic upliftment of the country. Bank is a key economic agency on whose efficient functioning the whole economic progress of a country depends upon. Bank deposit growth fell to a five-decade low in fiscal year ended March 2018 as the demonetisation bonanza withered away and the lure of other savings instruments such as mutual funds and insurance eroded banking competitiveness. The present has been made on deposits and advances in State Bank of India. The State Bank of India is India’s largest commercial Bank in terms of assets, deposits, branches, number of customers and employees, enjoying the continuing faith of millions of customers across the social spectrum. In the present study techniques like correlation, t-test, chi-square and moving averages have been applied to find the relation between deposits and advances and interest on these two variables. For the purpose of the present study hypotheses were developed to test their significance. The end result suggests that there exists a strong correlation between the variables ie: deposits and advances and interests thereon and there is no significant growth in NPAs during the period of study. There was a negative growth in branch wise deposits and advances. The bank may make a branch wise study to find the different possible ways to attract the customers, especially small depositors and also make advances in small amounts so that many people can avail this benefit. The bank has to take stringent actions to recover the NPAs. K. Venkat Janardhan Rao Kotha Anil Kumar 2018-12-31 2018-12-31 9
