Effect of Foot Reflexology on Pain among Cancer Patients in Oncology Ward, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore

An interventional study was conducted to identify the effect of foot reflexology on pain among cancer patients in Oncology Ward of Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore. Quasi experimental pre-test and post-test control group design was adopted for the present study. A purposive sample of 26 patients were selected and assigned randomly to experimental and control group. The baseline data was collected from the patient's record and pain intensity was assessed by using Numerical Pain Rating Scale. Foot reflexology was given for 30 minutes to the experimental group. The pain intensity score was assessed for both groups after foot reflexology. The results revealed that there is a significant reduction in pain after foot reflexology in the experimental group.
