Background: Job satisfaction in workers is a vital parameter that influences productivity as well as quality of work. This complex phenomenon is an attitude towards one’s job that has an impact not only on motivation, but also a career, health and relation with coworker. The aim of the present study was to assess the level of job satisfaction among the nursing personnel working in clinical and educational sector at selected health care and educational institutions in Hubli and Dharwad city, Karnataka. Objectives: 1. To assess the level of job satisfaction among nursing personnel working in clinical sector at selected healthcare institutions. 2. To assess the level of job satisfaction among nursing personnel working in educational institutions. 3. To compare the level of job satisfaction among the nursing personnel working in clinical sector and educational institutions. 4. To find out an association between the level of job satisfaction among the nursing personnel working in clinical sector and educational institutions with their selected demographic variables. Methodology: Descriptive survey design was used to assess the level of job satisfaction among the nursing personnel working in clinical sector and educational institutions. The 100 samples were selected with 50 samples each from healthcare and educational institutions by using non-probabilty; convenient sampling technique. The tool used was modified Minnesota Job Satisfaction scale. Results: the results revealed that 23 (46%) of nursing personnel working in healthcare institutions are satisfied with their overall job whereas 28 (56%) are satisfied with their overall job in educational institutions and there was no significant statistical difference found between the level of job satisfaction among two groups. The computed chi-square test revealed that there is no significant statistical association between level of job satisfaction among the nursing personnel working in clinical sector and educational institutions with their selected demographic variables. Conclusion: The area of satisfaction was found high with area of relationship with superior and high dissatisfaction was found with social security scheme.Keywords
