Polyethylene terephthalate used extensively in the packaging industry, producing disposable bottles. Like other plastic Polyethylene terephthalate remain long time in the environment and caused a problem in disposal of this material. Recycling is the best way for reduce plastic in the environment.PET recycled by physical, chemical and mechanical method. Plastic industries interested in Polyethylene terephthalate because good chemical and thermal properties. Recycled material has lower mechanical and chemical properties. Molecular weight of Polyethylene terephthalate reduced due to moisture absorption, biological pollutants, oxidation, high temperature and thermal degradation. In this study recycled Polyethylene terephthalate prepared from the coke bottle. For improving the properties Recycled polyethylene terephtalate mixed with polycarbonate in different level from 20 to 50%. Polycarbonate improved the performance of polyethylene terephtalate, which decreased after recycling. Increasing the amount of polycarbonate decreased the brittleness of Recycled polyethylene terephtalate, also improved the thermal resistance. Polycarbonate has properties such as high impact strength so increase the recycled Polyethylene terephthalate property. Alloying the recycled Polyethylene terephthalate with Polycarbonate improved the properties of Polyethylene terephthalate matrix and, usability of recycled polyethylene terephtalate increased for various applications.
