Human Rights and Police Administration
Subscribe/Renew Journal
The book covers an important subject in six chapters. At the very outset, the authors mention that human rights have gained legitimacy at the societal level. With the advent of globalization in India many social groups having grievances against the state mostly with respect to the criminal justice system have fought the state to weaken it. From Punjab to North-Eastern States, the conflict seems to be between the human rights organizations and police. Karnataka also experienced anti-state activism, especially in the areas close to Andhra Pradesh. The objectives of the study are to understood and assess the various dimensions of human rights, assess the strength and weakness of police administration, and examine the interrelation between Human Rights activism and police administration.
