This book written in Harathi by Shri H. B. Jagatap is indeed a welcome addition to the growing literature on rural change. The title of the book, however, connotes a much wider theme than what it deals with. It does not so much deal with the progress of agricultural development in the region as with the changes in the farm business of a selected number of farmers in three villages in the Wai taluka, located about fifty miles south of Poona.
