"Report of the Committee on Fertilizers"-A Review

This committee appointed by the Government of India in October 1964, submitted its import in September 1965. In its report the Committee has presented certain estimates of fertilizer production, consumption in the context of the fourth plan, and credit needed by different agencies and farmers for requisite use of fertilizers, and recommended substantial changes in the marketing and distribution of available fertilizers during the period of the fourth plan. As such the report has considerable importance and merits close examination.
