Anaesthetic Management of Ischemic Heart Disease in a Patient of Fracture Neck of Femur under Epidural Anaesthesia and Analgesia
General anaesthesia(GA) has been preferred in the anaesthetic management of noncardiac surgeries in cardiac patients, to maintain myocardial oxygen supply greater than demand, as preventing tachycardia and extremes of blood pressure is easier.1 Epidural anaesthesia(EA) can decrease cardiac morbidity and mortality in IHD patients coming for non-cardiac surgery.2Here we report the successful anaesthetic management of a patient with IHD and fracture neck of femur with EA.
