Pheochromocytomas are rare catecholamine secreting neuroendocrine tumors originating from chromaffin tissues of adrenal medulla. Most are sporadic but may have germ line mutations of genes predisposing to development of Von Hippel Lindau disease, Neurofibromatosis 1, Multiple endocrine neoplasm 1 and 2.  These tumors pose significant challenges to the anaesthetist with varied manifestations and give emphasis on hemodynamic monitoring and anaesthetic technique.
