Limb- girdle muscular dystrophy is a heterogeneous group of neuromuscular diseases characterized by progressive muscle weakness and atrophy of shoulder and/ or hip girdle muscles. Patient had poor lung reserve and low room air saturation. Also, prolongation of action of muscle relaxantswas anticipated. Due to our concerns regarding the requirement of postoperative mechanical ventilation and difficult weaning a combined spinal epidural anaesthesia was preferred over general Anaesthesia.
