Comparison of Bolus Ephedrine, Mephentermine and Phenylephrine for Maintenance of Arterial Pressure during Caesarian Section, a Double-Blind Study
Hypotension is the most dreaded yet preventable complication after spinal anesthesia. Phenylephrine, mephentermine and ephedrine are the most common drugs used to prevent post-spinal hypotension. A prophylactic bolus dose of these drugs can actually prevent hypotension from happening. The aim of this study is to compare the hemodynamic effects of bolus doses of phenylephrine N(100mcg), mephentermine (6 mg) and ephedrine (6mg) in patients undergoing lower limb surgeries under spinal anesthesia.
