Extubation is associated with hemodynamic responses similar to intubation, like hypertension, tachycardia and arrhythmias. Many a times extubation period is stormier than during intubation. In this study, we compared a single bolus dose of i.v. esmolol and i.v. lignocaine on these adverse hemodynamic responses to extubation.
