A Comparative Study of the Efficacy of IV Clonidine Versus IV Dexmedetomidine in Attenuating the Pressor Response during Laryngoscopy and Endotracheal Intubation - A Prospective Randomized Double Blinded Study
Direct laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation induces a cardiovascular stress response that on an average increases blood pressure by 40-50% and heart rate by 20%. Pre-induction dose of IV Clonidine or IV Dexmedetomidine attenuates the hemodynamic stress response to laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation.
