Ultrasound Guided Assessment of the Subglottic Diameter to Predict Appropriate Endotracheal Tube Size in Paediatric Patients
Endotracheal tube size selection based on various formulae available often fails to provide us with the ideal sized tube due to considerable variation in the airway size in the similarly aged/ weighing children. Ultrasonographic measurement of the subglottic diameter is an objective method of assessing the paediatric-airway and helps in predicting the appropriate endotracheal-tube size.
