The coconut palm (Cocos nucifera) is a member of the family Arecaceae and the only species in the genus Cocos. There are two types of trees, talls and dwarfs. Talls are predominantly cross-pollinated, whereas the dwarfs are predominantly self-pollinated.

Abstract
