Human listeriosis caused by Listeria monocytogenes (LM) is a serious public health concern. The disease leads to several health issues like abortion, stillbirth, septicaemia, meningitis and meningoencephalitis. The main targets are pregnant women, neonates, elderly or immunocompromised people1.
