This paper deals with the development of a bed with moisture sensor matrix on textile materials provided with conductivity sensor, pressure with a switch and temperature sensor with lm35 sensor. The measurement principle for the moisture sensor is based on the measurement of electrical resistance of the textile. The principle of pressure sensor is when it is closed for long time the pressure is built and temperature sensor works on band gap voltage reference. The purpose of this project is to support research on the prevention of pressure ulcers in people committed to bed rest or using wheelchairs and the measure the basic parameters. The first stage of development, the project is studying the relation between physical parameters, exposure time and the levels of discomfort and pain experienced by the patients committed to long bed rest. While in the next stage parameters like temperature, moisture and pressure are to be monitored consistently to get updates of the patient to know his health. If any of the parameters goes beyond the prescribed value it will activate an alarm to the medical room through a wireless transceiver. Radio Frequency is used for communication between the patient’s room and the medical room. The concept of telemedicine can also be involved and this principle can be utilized to integrate the sensors into blankets and bed covers and generate a product.
