System Identification of Hydrodynamic Journal Bearings Using Oil Film Pressure Measurement
Subscribe/Renew Journal
In this study the system identification method is applied to obtain mathematical model in form of transfer function and step response for a hydrodynamic journal bearings using fluid film pressure measurement. System identification needs set of measured inputs and output signals to create mathematical models. In present research experimental values of speed and load are taken as input parameters and fluid film pressure is taken as output parameter. In order to do the stability analysis of fluid film bearing it is necessary to predict the behavior of fluid film bearing at different operating conditions which is possible by using system identification in Matlab and further simulation to find transfer function and step response. Proposed work shows good agreement between simulated results and experimental data.
