Image Processing and Security Algorithm by Using Wavelet Transform

An image-scrambling algorithm is proposed for the security of images when transmitted over the network. It is based on Discrete Wavelet Transform and 8D chaotic map. Scrambling is performed in wavelet domain in order to resist statistical analysis attack. Due to the advantages of the confusion and diffusion characteristics of the eight-dimensional chaotic sequences, the algorithm obtains good scrambling effect and provides necessary security. Experimental results show that a good resistance against brute force attack space is achieved using the eight-dimensional chaotic map and tests have been made to prove the randomness of the proposed algorithm.
