Abstract

Development of automatic intelligent video content analysis system is an important goal of both the commercial and public sector surveillance industries. The main tasks in automatic visual surveillance system include moving object detection, static object detection, object classification, object tracking, action recognition and behavior understanding. Oobjects can be moving or static and can behave normally or abnormally. The abnormality in a scene is also termed as suspicious object, suspicious event, irregular behavior, unusual event, anomaly etc. Detection of suspicious behavior of object involves modeling and classification of actions. Behavior understanding task becomes more and more difficult as complexity of activity increases. Different methodologies studied in this paper identify various problems in video based action recognition system and give direction for further research in this area.

Abstract

Inspection is the process of checking something against predefined set of rules and criteria. In Visual Inspection object under test is inspected based on its image captured. Visual inspection is performed to check whether object under inspection satisfies certain criteria, rules. Visual inspection based on machine vision, automatic and intelligent visual inspection systems are used for various application areas and various types of industries. It is very efficient option for inspection in mass production industries. In most of industries for quality control, quality verification inspection of products at different stages is performed. Visual Inspection System are used instead of human inspectors or along with human inspectors to perform task of inspection in many industries. The Visual Inspection System will use an image of an object under test and it will perform operation of inspection based on features extracted from image. Inspection operation will generate results which will indicate whether object under inspection is faulty or fulfills requirement. These systems helps in automation of inspection process, but these systems must be smart and intelligent for efficient, general purpose operation. In this paper review of different automatic and intelligent visual inspection systems and techniques used in them will be discussed. Techniques for different application area will be discussed and summary of them is presented.

Abstract

Computer Vision is the field which is growing very fast and rapidly. The main purpose of the object detection in video surveillance system is for safety of the human. Objects like human and vehicle have been important research area in Intelligent Transport System (ITS). Here in this paper, we have considered human and vehicles as an object. Basically, Contour-based approach is used to get moving object’s region. In this approach, consecutive frames are subtracted to get foreground moving objects and connected component of the contour is used for detecting the object. Here we have set the Region of Interest to extract detected object. We have used static camera for detection purpose. Different video database of video surveillance area is considered. Thresholding, binary image conversion, morphological operations are implemented for better detection of foreground objects. Experimental results are shown to elaborate the contour-based object detection method.
