Structural Survey of High Rise Buildings in Colombo Sri Lanka

The purpose of this research is to identify the critical parameters that have to be considered in designing stage of a High-Rise building. A structural study was carried out by doing structural survey of six high-rise buildings in Colombo city (Lotus Tower, Altair Residencies, Grand Hyatt, Shangri-La Colombo Residential Tower, Clear Point Residencies and Waterfront Integrated Resort Project). This research paper has a study of one of these high rise buildings i.e. Lotus Tower which has a height of 350. The study mainly indicates the structural details and design consideration of the structure. And also, this study focuses on the approaches to model high rise buildings by finite element analysis of selected building (using CSI SAP2000 software) and design considerations for the stability of the structure. This study also checks stiffness, the building can resist lateral loads effectively.
