BER Analysis of Wireless Optical CDMA LAN Using Prime Codes and Extended Prime Codes
Subscribe/Renew Journal
In wireless optical system, CDMA suits well for high bit rate systems where good security is needed and mobility is not important. One of the spreading codes used in wireless optical systems is prime codes. The algorithm for generating the sequence is very simple and the shortcomings are that it has larger auto correlation side lobes equal to p-1, its cross-correlation is not equal to 1 and the cardinality of the prime code is only equal to its weight .In order to reduce the cross-correlation of the prime code to 1, the extended prime code (EPC) has been proposed. The extended prime codes has cross-correlating constraint is equal to one and the autocorrelation constraint is equal to zero. So the extended prime code always performs better than the original prime code. The error probability of extended prime codes and prime code is compared in wireless OCDMA network. The bit error probabilities of Optical CDMA system using prime sequence codes and extended prime sequence codes are analyzed.
