Implementation of Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) using Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is the main objective of the paper. The VoIP technology allows voice information to pass over IP data networks. So the implementation of such technology has gained interest by many researchers. In this paper, SIP and H.323 Signaling protocols are used to implement VOIP. SIP is a proposed protocol standard developed by the IETF working group. Its purpose is to define a way to initiate, modify and terminate an interactive session between users. These sessions can contain video, music, voice, online games, instant messaging, etc. The advantages and disadvantages of the above said implementation is discussed. It is observed that SIP is more accurate than other protocol.
