This paper presents the flow analysis of novel pole shape switched reluctance hub motor. The novel pole shape improves the machine performance and the flow analysis improves the temperature distribution inside the novel pole shape switched reluctance hub motor. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a good technique for the evaluation of fluid flow, the "fluid" that flows inside a rotating electric machine is the air, which is highly turbulent when the rotor starts rotation. To evaluate the accurate simulation of heat distribution, the results of CFD analysis are used.

Abstract

This paper presents the flow analysis of novel pole shape switched reluctance hub motor. The novel pole shape improves the machine performance and the flow analysis improves the temperature distribution inside the novel pole shape switched reluctance hub motor. A computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a good technique for the evaluation of fluid flow, the "fluid" that flows inside a rotating electric machine is the air, which is highly turbulent when the rotor starts rotation. To evaluate the accurate simulation of heat distribution, the results of CFD analysis are used.
