VLSI Architecture for an System to Detect Tonsillitis
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Throat is the main part of the human organ. Adult tonsillitis causes major effect, because it is one of the main causes leading to heart attack. This project has been proposed for the detection of tonsils. There are two methods to detect tonsillitis they are thresholding method and clustering method.
In thresholding method tonsil is detected by considering colour and size. On that, green components are taken from RGP color space. From the extracted green components, tonsil defected tissue area is easily identified from the normal tissue, where as in clustering method tonsil is detected by applying clustering algorithms. Two clustering algorithms is proposed in this project they are Fuzzy c-means and Fuzzy k means
After applying clustering algorithm, tonsil will be detected by extracting two colours from RGP colour space. The best of the two methods of Prototype architecture is implemented in FPGA using Verilog coding.
