Solid-state dye-sensitized photo-voltaic cells have been fabricated with TiO2 as the electron conductor and oxalic acid doped polyaniline (OX-PANI) as the hole conductor. The OX-PANI was synthesized by chemical oxidative polymerization of aniline in oxalic acid medium using potassium dichromate as oxidant. The cell shows photocurrent density of around 1 mA/cm2, an open circuit voltage of 430 mV, corresponding to an overall conversion efficiency of 2.16% under illumination of 10 mW/cm2.
