Comparative Analysis of Various Optical Filters for Suppression of Four-Wave Mixing Effect
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Four-wave mixing is an important parameter that effects the propagation of the signal in optical communication system and networks. Hence, it must be reduced to certain extent if not possible to completely remove it. In this paper optical filters are used to suppress four wave mixing crosstalk. The various optical filters used are rectangular filter, Bessel filter and Gaussian filter. 10 Gbps DWDM system is analysed. The system consists of four channels, each of 2.5 Gbps data rate and is analysed for the length of 300 Km. Also, comparative analysis of three filters is carried out. Dispersion is controlled using dispersion compensating fibre. Bandwidth of rectangular filter, Bessel filter and Gaussian Filter used here are5 GHz, 3 GHz and 3 GHz respectively.
