Applying PMBOK in Project-Based ERP Logistics Systems

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a system used by many organisations to streamline and integrates business processes across different functions, such as finance, human resources, logistics, procurement, distribution and others.  In this article, the author concentrates on ERP from the logistics perspective, and what is the appropriate way to consider through implementing the ERP logistics project. The paper details all steps must be followed by a project manager and his/her team throughout the project, using the traditional method based on the PMBOK guide. This paper will review the best practices and technologies that should be used  in a project of ERP logistics. The paper reviews the literature and previous studies to discuss the best effects for performing a project  relying on the PMBOK guide to achieve the outcomes that is expected to achieve by a firm when deciding to implement the ERP Logistics system.
