Waste Water Pre-Treatment using Vermicomposting Techniques
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Water hyacinth is a highly harmful plant which spread over on rivers and lakes. Vermicomposting is a process to manage water hyacinth plants, but the process is too long to be fascinating. Microbial composting pre-treatment is used to reduce the time taken for completion of vermicomposting process. In pre-treatment, the cow manure and distillery waste for microbial composting are commonly used. The study contains water hyacinth and distillery waste/cow manure in the ratio of 3:1 and a control over water hyacinth was set up. The importance of microbial composting temperature, pH, moisture content, total organic carbon, total Kjeldahl nitrogen, total solids, volatile solids, and ash content were assessed every 15 days.
