Simulation and Analysis the Performance of AODV and DSR for VOIP and Video Conferencing Using OPNET
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Mobile Ad hoc networks (MANET) have no fixed infrastructure. Each node in an ad hoc network is mobile and can act as an independent router. Ad hoc networks provide an extremely flexible method of establishing communication, so MANET becomes one of the most important wireless communication mechanisms among all other. In MANET, intermediate nodes are used to routing the packets from the source node to the destination node, for this various kind of routing protocols are taken into consideration, i.e. AODV, DSR, GRP, OLSR etc. In this paper the performance of AODV and DSR is analyzed by varying no. of nodes for two different applications: video conferencing and VOIP. The given work will be analyzed using OPNET Modeler. The result is carryout via Delay, Load and Data Transmission. The results show that the overall performance of AODV is better than DSR for VOIP and for Video conferencing DSR is better than AODV.
