Throughput Analysis of RCPT Coded HARQ for OFDM System
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Today OFDM is considered as one of the strong candidate for mobile radio communication due to the availability of high speed data rates and robustness against the multipath channel. For reliable communication in such wireless communication system, the rate compatible punctured turbo coded hybrid automatic repeat request (RCPT HARQ) is used. In case of wireless transmission throughput is an important performance measure for data communication In this paper, we evaluate by computer simulations the throughput performance of RCPT coded HARQ for OFDM system which is compared for two types of error controlling g techniques i.e., Type I and Type II HARQ. The throughput of both error controlling schemes is compared for different modulation levels (BPSK, QPSK and 16QAM) and in different channel conditions (AWGN, Rayleigh and Rician). It is found that the throughput of Type II HARQ is higher than that of Type I HARQ. The puncturing period used in this work is 2.
