Avoiding Congestion in Wireless Sensor Network using Energy Aware Protocols
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Wireless Sensor Networks have found their way into a wide variety of applications with varying requirements; characteristics and these Wireless Sensor Networks operate on batteries. Hence power consumption and performance becomes important issues, congestion remains a serious problem that has to be tackled efficiently. Performance of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) can also be affected when the network is deployed under different topologies. To maximize the life time of the sensor networks, the power consumption rate of each node must be evenly distributed, and the overall transmission power for each connection request must be minimized and congestion can be lessened by enabling more nodes to become active during periods of congestion. In this paper, we present a new energy-aware routing protocol and DAlPaS a simple Dynamic Alternative Path Selection Scheme attempting to maintain performance requirement. DAlPaS attempt to control transient or permanent congestion situations. DAlPaS chooses an alternative path in order to avoid congested nodes with that affect the performance of WSN.
