A QoS-Oriented Effective Energy Conservation for IEEE 802.16e Mobile WiMax Networks
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Energy conservation in broadband wireless networks is possible by the provision of the sleep mode incorporated in the design. This allows the mobile networks and towers to stem power loss when working or idle. Many energy saving options are offered by Mobile WiMAX or IEEE 802.16e to suit various network grids to ensure minimum power loss. The sleep mode functionality however has not been utilized in the most efficient manner to conserve power of mobile stations with multiple real-time connections. Mobile stations are also not running at optimum levels leading to power loss due to inefficiency. In this study we have two models to save and conserve energy for real-time communications in Mobile WiMAX systems. These algorithms not only cut power loss but also upgrade and guarantee service quality of real-time networks. Simulated testing shows dramatic performance standards with these models outperforming conventional set ups.
