A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) consists of a set of mobile hosts capable that form a temporary network on the fly without using any fixed infrastructure. The nodes operate both as hosts and routers. Due to mobility of nodes, the topology of the network may change rapidly and unexpectedly, thus setting up routes that meet high reliability is very challenging issue. Hence it is very important to find a route that can obtain highly stable routing and transmission ratio during data transmission.

To address the above mentioned problem, we propose a high performance scalable QoS routing protocol, the parameters of which are residual energy, hop count and route life time that is obtained using Global Positioning System (GPS). Therefore in this scheme, data is sent through a route with high stability, high residue energy level and low latency. The protocol consists of three phases: route discovery, route selection and route maintenance.

This paper also introduces a new algorithm for calculating trust in Wireless Sensor Networks based on the quality of services characteristics expected to be fulfilled by nodes. Wireless Sensor Networks as an emerging technology has received a great attention from both, researchers and the industry due to the need of tiny and cheap nodes to be distributed in large scales and in difficult environments. The creation, operation, management and survival of Wireless Sensor Networks as a special type of ad hoc network is dependent upon the cooperative and trusting nature of its nodes.

Abstract

A mobile ad hoc network (MANET) consists of a set of mobile hosts capable that form a temporary network on the fly without using any fixed infrastructure. The nodes operate both as hosts and routers.
