QoS-Novel Multipath Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Modern mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) frequently consist of nodes which exhibit a wide range of autonomy needs. Bandwidth limitation and dynamic topology of MANETs are prime challenges to support QoS in MANETs. Therefore, to propose a unique scheme that support’s best QoS in MANETs suitable for all application scenarios is a challenging task. Keeping this in mind and to overcome the limitation, this paper makes an effort to investigate QoSin MANETs, from an internet application perspective that supports active calls of users roaming from cellular or WLANs. Here parametric measurements such as upstream and downstreamthroughput, network joining delays, end-to-end frame delivery delays are of primary importance.. A lot of research has been done on supporting QoS in MANETS. Some of the main QoS provisioning protocols are DSR, MP-DSR, ASPA, and TDMA. But none of these considers Node utilization factor. This protocol takes bandwidth as the QoS parameter, and considers handling capacity of effective paths and guaranties QoS service by introducing node utilization factor and path utilization factor. The algorithm of route discovery and Route maintenance in the protocol is extension of DSR protocol and QMR/PR Protocol.
