Performance Analysis of Propagation Model using Wireless Mobile Ad Hoc Network Routing Protocols
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Mobile ad hoc networks (MANET) consist of a collection of wireless mobile nodes, which dynamically exchange data among themselves without the reliance on a fixed base station or a wired backbone network. In this work, we present investigations on the behavior of various networks routing protocol with propagation model. We evaluate theperformance of four different ad hoc routing protocols using propagation models that take into account two main characteristics of the wireless channel – path loss and shadowing. We present a comparison between the performances of the protocols in this setting and in the idealized free space propagation setting through QualNet 4.5 network simulation. The studies would be helpful in choosing the correct protocol and tuning it corresponding to the operating environment envisaged.
