Application Specific Node Selection Criteria for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Ad hoc network is the network formed by the devices that are capable to communicate with each other by wireless medium without any centralized administration or control. Estimating the optimum number of nodes to cover the whole communication area under consideration for specificapplication is very important. In this paper we propose a decision method for selecting optimum number of nodes for specified area. The trials are taken using three popularly known ad hoc routing protocols namely Ad Hoc On demand Distance Vector routing (AODV), Dynamic Source Routing (DSR), Destination Sequenced Distance Vector routing (DSDV). An attempt is made to predict correct number of users, in order to have effective communication for area under selection.
