Status of Body Image Awareness in Adolescents

Beauty is the promise of happiness. It has been highly valued of human attributes, assumed to be connected with happiness, intelligence and success and adolescence is a period of personal and social identity formation, in which different roles, behaviors, and ideologies are explored. The rapid physical changes which occurred in adolescents have important effects on the body image. Most Adolescents are highly aware of their appearance and invest significant cognitive and emotional resources in their relation with the physical body. This article aims to focus the status of body image awareness in adolescents.
