Emotional Intelligence and Positive Mental Health:A Review

Emotional Intelligence has become very popular among academicians and practitioners. It enables people to use emotion advantageously to achieve desired outcome in different fields. It is the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves and for motivating emotions well in us and in our relationships. Emotional intelligence has been found to be positively related to psychological well-being, creativity, academic achievement, cognitive ability, self-esteem, reasoning ability, moral judgement, intelligence and negatively related with anxiety, stress, depress and psychological distress. The present paper reviews on emotional intelligence andhealth.
