Problems Faced by Rural Women in Adoption of Improved Agricultural Technologies

The use of technology has a significant impact on changing a variety of industries, including agriculture. Although there are a number of technologies designed and developed by many Scientists most of these are either not adopted or partially adopted by farm women. The popularity of technologies among agricultural women is extremely uncommon. There are so many constraints in its use due to socio-economic conditions, situational or technological problems, they tend to reject the technology, discontinue its use or partially adopt it. Hence, the study was conducted to find out the various Problems faced by rural women in the adoption of improved technologies. The study was conducted on 200 respondents(25 from each selected village) of eight villagesfrom two agro-climatic zones of Haryana. The data was collected through personal and face to face interview method. The major problems expressed by the majority of the respondents were technologies is expensive low level of education about technology, practical and compatible technology is not available at local level, complexity in use etc. for its adoption.
