Rapid Prototyping is one of the most emerging fields of modern industry. It is one of the most time saving methods for production of physical parts or prototypes according to the required scale. Metal Casting is one of the most widely used methods for production of components. Casting in addition with the rapid prototyping process reduces the time taken to produce a component or part along with an increase in the quality of the component. This paper assesses the current trends in rapid prototyping for metal casting and its various applications.
