Geopolymer concrete results from the reaction of a source material that is rich in silica and alumina with alkaline liquid. A summary of the extensive studies conducted on flyash-based geopolymer concrete is presented. Geopolymer concrete utilizes an alternate material including flyash as binding material in place of cement. This fly ash reacts with alkaline solution (e.g. NaOH) and Sodium Silicatec (Na2SiO3) to form a gel which binds the fine and coarse aggregates. One kinds of system were considered in this study using 100% replacement of cement by ASTM class F flyash. It was analyzed from the test result that the Indian standard mix itself can be used for the geopolymer concrete with some modification.

A summary of the extensive studies conducted on flyash-based geopolymer concrete is presented. One kinds of system were considered in this study using 100% replacement of cement by ASTM class F flyash. It was analyzed from the test result that the Indian standard mix itself can be used for the geopolymer concrete with some modification.
