The present study discusses the effect of parametric factors on the performance improvement of the combined system consisting of the solar still and flat plate collector. In the present study a flat plate collector (FPC) for heating water was designed and fabricated. The FPC was combined with the solar still for evaluating its performance and efficiency improvement. A 12% increase in efficiency was obtained on combining the solar still with the FPC.
