Lean Manufacturing a Method for the Improvement of Process:A Review

In industry, manufacturing process capability is a significant feature for process continuity. Lean manufacturing is widely used and also applied in various industries. The fundamental concept of the lean is to eliminate the waste and also to change the process. Many organizations are going through a stage where there is a necessity to respond the customer needs to withstand their position in the current scenario. The objective of this paper is to explain the concept and scope of lean manufacturing. The review also presents an analysis of lean concepts that have been applied. Lean uses wide range of tools and techniques. The choice of technique and tool is situation based. Number of factors contribute to lean success, not only it is necessary to implement all the tools and techniques.
