The present study analyses the framework of delivery of basic services. It attempted to measure the delivery and satisfaction out of service delivery by developing indices following the data-driven weightage method. Based on users’ feedback, it attempts to examine how the satisfaction from services from local government varies according to household characteristics. Four basic services from local government viz. drinking water, roads, sanitation and public health are evaluated on the basis of four objective parameters viz. availability, accessibility, reliability and quality. Along with, level of satisfaction over services delivered have been assessed subjectively based on feedback. Regression method used to identify the determinants of satisfaction. The findings suggest that apart from the level of service delivery, the intrinsic household characteristics make people satisfied. The study identifies the possible presence of clientelism in service delivery. The study suggests redesigning policy to create space for citizen engagement for coproduction and reduce clientelism in service delivery by local government. The root causes for the current deplorable environmental state are poor monitoring, implementation and enforcement of environmental laws. This paper examines the administrative framework of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC). The paper consists of three sections. The first section provides an overview of the administrative set up of the MoEFCC in India. The second section highlights the major issues and recommendations associated with the functioning of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and State Pollution Control Boards. The third and final section examines the problem from the current context – are the issues highlighted in the 2006 study still relevant today? This is done by examining the current literature and publications. This section also examines the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and highlights issues therein. The panel quantile regression estimates show that while the effect of FDI is insignificant, economic growth and energy consumption significantly increase carbon emissions in high-emission ASEAN-5 countries. At higher levels of energy consumption, adaption of green renewable energy and emission control technology mitigate the increase in carbon emissions. The quantile estimates of this paper do not lend support to the U-shaped Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis. At the same time, the insignificant effect of FDI on carbon emissions does not lend sufficient support to the pollution haven hypothesis in lower-emission ASEAN-5 countries. The negative influence of FDI on carbon emissions at the middle quantiles supports the halo effect hypothesis. The estimated quantile results suggest that uniform carbon emissions control policies are unlikely to succeed equally across low-emissions and high-emissions economies. T. The study’s objective is to explore the interrelationship between tax revenue and the education index of select countries. For the present study, five countries, France, Italy, Brazil, Canada, and India, have been selected. For data analysis, correlation and regression have been calculated. For testing hypothesis, t-test has been administered. Results of correlation show that Canada’s tax revenue and education index are highly correlated compared to the other countries. The study developed the prediction model of the education index for select countries. In all five countries, the results of the t-test show that the regression prediction model has been significant, and the difference between the actual education index and the predicted education index is not significant; this indicates that the model developed by us is significant. It can be applied anywhere in the real world. The prediction model can be used to identify a particular target of education and to determine the amount of tax revenue that will be required to enhance the education level in a particular country.
