Abstract

The paper attempts to elucidate the E-governance system in Bangladesh and India through a comparative analytical framework. It endeavors to trace out the prevalent strengths and weakness in introducing E-governance mechanisms in both of the countries as the experience of the countries in the field seems not to be massively different. Still it attempts to demonstrate what strategies the countries have to learn from each other, particularly for Bangladesh to acquire from India, as India in some sectors has tremendously improved and successfully sustained in last few decades. It critically evaluates the reasons of weakness, finds out the stakeholders responsible for the failure of different enterprises, and tries to forward recommendations that would be a good learning experience for Bangladesh in introducing similar E-governance initiatives.
