Abstract
In today's global business context, strategic management has become central to the success of institutions and organizations. The difference between a CEO and a bureaucrat lies in the fact that the CEO is strategy driven, while the bureaucrat gets things done through power. With the emergence of martlets as dominant force, strategy has become more important than bureaucratic power to achieve success in a competitive context.
