Thrombocytopenia in Acute Febrile Illness
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Febrile illness of two weeks or shorter is considered as acute febrile illness. Acute febrile illness is also referred as acute undifferentiated fever because of its short duration and absence of clinical features pointing to organ specific illness. There is no international consensus definition however, fever patients with localizing symptoms and signs are excluded e.g., acute pneumonia, acute meningitis, acute urinary tract infection etc.
