I cons of modern medicine from India have largely remained unknown. While it is easy enough for a medical student to identify the ancient icons like Charaka and Susruta, many would have a difficult time naming the Indian medical icons of the last century. This is unfortunate as some towering stalwarts have made stellar contributions to clinical medicine which has revolutionised medical practise not just within the Indian sub-continent or Asia but the entire globe.
